Storming Heaven for Exams!

Wednesday, January 20, 6:30 pm

Thanks to all those who joined us for the prayer service & for dinner!  The whole evening was really peaceful and prayerful.

God bless you all and know that we are keeping you in our prayers for a successful exam week!

We'll do it again in June for sure!  Keep praying to St. Joseph Cupertino (The Saint to pray to during Exams!).

Celebrating the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Pray & Play

Sunday, January 17 @ 1:15pm

The Pray & Play (Soccer) event was amaaaaazing!  Thank you to the youth from Donway Baptist Church, Jubilee United Church and St. Mark's Presbyterian Church for joining us!  Between the prayer service, sharing a meal together, and of course the awesome soccer game everyone had a great time!  I really do believe that where two or three are gathered Christ is there among us...even on the soccer field!

We really had a ball. Thanks to everyone for coming and thank you to all the parents and young adults who drove that day.

The Flea Market Was Amazing!

Thank you to the 31 Youth who volunteered for this event!

Wow.  Between set-up on Friday, Youth Booth sales, food sales and clean-up on Saturday, you all did an amazing job and it was wonderful to see so many of you involved!  The Catholic Women's League Members were so grateful for your help. Plus I had a lot of fun working with all of you. The whole flea market raised $10,000 for the CWL and our booth raised $190 for the Youth Ministry Program. Thanks for all your hard work!  God bless all the hands that helped out, I hope you all had fun!

Youth Towards Assisi Pilgrimage 2009

We're back!  We've had an amazing pilgrimage in Assisi! Thank you so much for all your prayers, it was a wonderful time of prayer and fraternity.  We made so many new friends from all over the world in Assisi, Italy. To check out more pics, join our Facebook page as a fan under The Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure Youth Ministry Program.

OCY Youth Rally

The rally was fantastic! Thank you to all who came on the trip.  We worshiped together and had a ton of fun as well. We gained so much from the weekend, and by the end of the trip our spirits were high as we looked around us to see hundreds of young Catholics worshiping together. Who would have thought that so much fun and prayer could be crammed into one weekend!  Praise God!

Did You Miss the Transitions Retreat?

You missed a fantastic experience,  but you can take a mini retreat on your own.

Find a quiet spot and make time to think about where you've been and  where you are going.  I seriously

recommend you take this before you head off to university or college.

Welcome from Rachel

The Youth Ministry program is a whole new adventure at St. Bonaventure Parish. I am excited to be running the program for our youth - students at St. Bonaventure, St. Catherine, Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, Rippleton Public, Denlow Public, St. Joseph Morrow Park, Marshall McLuhan, Brebeuf College School, Wexford Collegiate, Senator O'Connor and Loretto Abbey.

The Youth Ministry program focuses on developing our relationship with God and building community.  Community is also built when we put our faith into action and so we remember Christ's message to love our neighbour.  Since our neighbours have different needs, we take the time to volunteer with different organizations around the city to show that we are Christ's hands acting in today's world. The Youth Ministry Program is here to serve the Youth; if you are between 11 - 30 yrs of age, contact me!  I would love to hear from you, rachel@st-bonaventure.ca
